Neeta Ragoowansi has been an entertainment attorney, music business professional and musician for over 25 years, dedicated to growing the music industry and connecting it with mission based initiatives. She is Senior Counsel, Legal & Business Affairs for Global Citizen and serves as Women in Music's Global Co-Chair, Chapter Expansion; Music Managers Forum – US's (MMF-US) President, and is the Diversity and Inclusion Chair for The American Bar Association’s Forum on Entertainment & Sports Law. Neeta also serves on the advisory board of International Music Managers Forum (IMMF) as well as several conferences including Midem and SXSW. She also is a consultant to the finance/investment sector on licensing and rights management and music industry issues, and is a strategic advisor, business development resource, and legal counsel to entertainment and tech industry clients.
Previously, Ragoowansi was President of Women in Music, VP of Business Development & Legal for Tunesat, Assistant General Counsel for both the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Symphony Orchestra, and founding head of artist-label relations for US digital performance rights organization SoundExchange. She also served more than 10 years as board governor for The Recording Academy’s NY & DC chapters, and has spoken at over 300 music industry conferences on the topics of law, licensing/copyright, metadata topics, and women’s leadership & empowerment.
