Lisa Alter is a Partner & Founding Member of the firm of Alter, Kendrick & Baron, LLP in New York City. Her practice is focused primarily in the area of copyright law, with a particular emphasis on music copyright issues, where she advises a number of major and independent music publishing companies, as well as equity investors, in copyright and transactional matters. Alter represents clients in transactions involving the acquisition and sale of significant music assets, negotiates and closes complex stock and asset purchase agreements, and conducts in-depth copyright due diligence in connection with the acquisition, sale and/or administration of music copyright catalogues. She is the author of “Protecting Your Musical Copyrights,” and is admitted to the Bar in New York, California and New Jersey. Lisa received her BA from Wesleyan University and her JD from New York University School of Law. As part of her undergraduate work, she studied at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
